The Burls Kids: Helping Local Kids Experience Their First Arkansas Football Game

Generations Bank recently sponsored the Burls Kids during the Arkansas v. Texas game, providing local kids their first chance to experience a Razorback Football game at Donald W. Reynolds Stadium.

  • The Burls Kids: Since 2000, the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation has purchased 30 tickets to each Arkansas Razorback home football game for kids who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford them. The kids are also given replica #77 jerseys and glasses like those worn by legendary Razorback Brandon Burlsworth.

  • Doin’ It The Burls Way: The group of local kids sponsored by Generations Bank was treated to a special tour of the stadium, including the glass-encased Brandon Burlsworth locker in the U of A Hall of Honor. At halftime, the kids were led onto the field to meet the Razorback cheerleaders, mascots, and Tusk!

Crystal Bridges Hosting Conversation With Jonathan Haidt & Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

This evening, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will welcome Jonathan Haidt, author of the acclaimed book The Anxious Generation, and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders to discuss the rise of anxiety among today’s youth and possible solutions for our state.

  • Tracking Changes: Since 2018, Haidt has been studying the contributions of social media to the decline of teen mental health. The Anxious Generation explores how, in the early 2010s, there were two major interlocking changes to childhood: the loss of the play-based childhood and the rise of the phone-based childhood.

  • Join The Conversation: Olivia Walton, chair of the Crystal Bridges board, will moderate the discussion with Haidt and Governor Sanders. The event is sold out, but the conversation will be livestreamed by Arkansas PBS on YouTube.
