Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomes Jane Fonda and Mary Steenburgen for a distinguished lecture next Tuesday, Nov 12, at 6p.
Womenâs Wellbeing: Academy Award-winning actor, author, and activist Jane Fonda and songwriter, Golden Globe, and Academy Award-winning actor Mary Steenburgen will share in a conversation about womenâs wellbeing, climate advocacy, and their personal wellness journeys.
Join The Conversation: Olivia Walton, chair of the Crystal Bridges board, will moderate the discussion. The event is sold out, but the conversation will be livestreamed by Arkansas PBS on YouTube.

U of A Receives $5 Million To Build Seismic Testing Center
The University of Arkansas received a $5M grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology to establish a large-scale testing center for seismic systems at the Grady E. Harvell Civil Engineering Research and Education Center (CEREC) in Fayetteville.
Shaking It Up: Led by civil engineering professor Gary Prinz, the center will use the funds to purchase advanced hydraulic loading and testing equipment, allowing for detailed structural testing in a controlled environment.
Structured For Success: The new center aims to improve the resilience of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure in the face of earthquakes. Since its opening in 2021, the CEREC has already secured $21.5M in research awards, positioning it as a leader in structural engineering.

Frost Fest Announces Return To Fayetteville For February 2025
Mark your calendars! Frost Fest Outdoor Beer Festival will showcase the regionâs best breweries at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Feb 1, from 2-7p.
So Chill: Organized by the folks behind Fossil Cove Brewery, the festival showcases local breweries and supports local organizations with lots of craft beer, food trucks, vendors, live music, and artists. Frost Fest 2024 raised $55,000 for local nonprofits!
