Fire At Recycling Center In Rogers Sends Up Smoke Plume Visible For Miles

Felisha McCallister
Yesterday afternoon around 3p, Marck Industries Recycling Center in Rogers caught on fire, sending up an enormous plume of smoke and ash that could be seen from as far away as Bella Vista, Fayetteville, and Eureka Springs.
Four-Alarm Fire: The Rogers Fire Department classified the incident as a four-alarm fire, meaning the entire building was on fire. The fire may continue to burn for several days but has been deemed manageable. So far, over 3,000 gallons of water have been used to fight the flames, and departments from all over NWA have been working together to extinguish the fire.
Smoke Alert: Due to the fire, a hazardous smoke warning was issued, urging nearby residents, especially those with respiratory concerns, to stay inside. One worker at the facility was taken to the hospital for excessive smoke inhalation, but thankfully, all workers were accounted for.
KNWA shared several photos, videos, and time-lapses of the fire and smoke plume HERE.
