Local Aerospace Company Earns Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade

Five Arkansas companies were honored in the 14th annual presentation of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade, including Bentonville-based aerospace manufacturer Game Composites.

  • Arkansas Worldwide: The Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade honors companies of all sizes for their excellence in actively selling products in international markets. The award was established by the Arkansas District Export Council, a non-profit that supports and promotes exporting in the Natural State.

  • Defy Gravity: Game Composites develops high-performance and special mission aircraft, combining cutting-edge composite technologies with expert craftsmanship to produce aircraft that push the boundaries of aviation. Their GB1 GameBird is a favorite among aviation enthusiasts worldwide. The company employs 100+ engineers and craftsmen and exports to Chile, England, Malaysia, and beyond.

Epic Lightshow to Illuminate Fayetteville’s Lower Ramble

Phantasma in the Ramble, a two-day light show and silent disco, is coming to the Fay Jones Woods in the Lower Ramble on Oct 25-26.

  • Into The Woods: The free multi-sensory dance party will kick off Halloween Weekend in Fayetteville. The multi-sensory installation is free to join, but we ask that you reserve your spot at your preferred time. Costumes are encouraged!

  • Dance All Night: Guests will enjoy a mesmerizing laser light show and dance, along with a silent disco. Headphones will be provided, and multiple DJs will be set up on different channels to provide a variety of preferred sounds while lights dance around the Fay Jones Woods.

Don’t Miss KaniniFest: A Free One-Act Play Festival this Weekend at the Momentary

Join the Momentary for the first-ever KaniniFest, a groundbreaking one-act play festival featuring three days of immersive performances, dance workshops, drum circles, art installations, and more in Bentonville this weekend, Oct 11-13.

  • On The Stage: KaniniFest will showcase the work of five BIPOC playwrights from across the United States, though all directors and actors are from the Northwest Arkansas region. The schedule includes five original plays, a Pacific Island dance workshop, West African drum and dance, youth acting workshops, dance parties, a silent auction, special guests, food trucks, and more!

  • We Are One: Derived from the Indigenous Australian word Kanyini, meaning “oneness,” KaniniFest was created by the visionary actors and artists Christopher Alexander Chukwueke and Tenisi Davis, who currently serve as artists-in-residence at the Momentary under the banner of Moja Productions.

Crystal Bridges Seeking Student Artist Submissions for 2025 Scholastic Art Awards

Crystal Bridges is seeking submissions from student artists for the 2025 Scholastic Art Awards — the nation's longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

  • Young Talent: Since 1923, the Scholastic Art Awards has recognized talented young artists, including notable alumni like Truman Capote, Sylvia Plath, Amanda Gorman, and Ken Burns. Students in grades 7-12 can submit work in categories like ceramics, fashion, digital art, illustration, painting, animation, photography, and more. The deadline to apply is Dec 6.

  • On Display: Winners of the Scholastic Art Awards Heartland Region will be announced on Jan 24, and their artwork displayed in a special showcase in the Lower Lobby gallery at Crystal Bridges from March 22 through May 5. The Heartland Art Region Awards Ceremony will be hosted at Crystal Bridges on April 6.
