World Champion Squirrel Cookoff Fires Up The Grill This Weekend

The World Champion Squirrel Cookoff is firing up the grill at the Ozark Highlands Nature Center in Springdale this Saturday, Sep 13, from 9a-5p.

• Come & Hang A While: In the morning, teams will cook while guests enjoy shopping, vendors, squirrelly photos, sampling, a crappie fish fry, and even a hike and foraging walk.

• This Squirrel Is On Fire: In the afternoon, hands-on activities like tree stand safety, slingshots, fly casting, and geocaching take place, along with crowd favorites, the World Championship Squirrel Cleaning Competition and the World’s Hottest Squirrel Eating Contest to follow. The day wraps up with an award ceremony.
