The Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter has welcomed over 13,000 kids since its doors opened 30 years ago. Here is how its mission continues today!

  • Safe Haven for Kids: Staffed 24/7, the shelter welcomed 230 children last fiscal year, half of them from Northwest Arkansas, offering safety, healing, and support for kids in crisis.

  • Filling the Foster Gap: With 400 children in foster care and only 100 eligible foster families, the shelter is shifting focus to close the foster care gap. How? Through community-driven giving, education & awareness, and a new transitional house launching in 2027 to support young adults aging out of the system.
