Nonprofit
Does Human Trafficking Really Happen In Northwest Arkansas?
Today is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, and we want to highlight a local organization making a real impact in the fight against human trafficking.
Local Impact: Founded in 2017, Hub of HOPE is a Northwest Arkansas nonprofit focused on preventing human trafficking, raising awareness through education, and providing healing and opportunities for victims. Since 2023, the organization has held 75 trainings, supported 47 survivors, and responded to 138 HELPline calls, making a tangible impact in the community.
Surely Not Here: It may be difficult to imagine people selling people in modern-day Northwest Arkansas. So we reached out to Hub of HOPE Founder Jennifer Sorey to learn how human trafficking affects our local community. Her response was sobering and her passion contagious. I hope you’ll give it a read.
