6th Annual SOAR NWA Hot Air Balloon Festival Floats Back to Bentonville

We’re about a month out from the 6th annual SOAR NWA hot air balloon festival, coming to the Benton County Fairgrounds this Aug 15-16 to take the fun to new heights and open avenues for our neighbors with disabilities.

• Helping Others Fly: SOAR NWA raises funds for Open Avenues, a nonprofit that has been serving Northwest Arkansas since 1975 by providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

• Reach For The Sky: Enjoy a variety of events, including evening balloon glows, tethered balloon rides, a kid zone, circus performers, a beer garden, food vendors, a car exhibit, and live music.

Startup Junkie Announces Theme and Dates for Startup Crawl 2025

The 7th Annual Startup Crawl is rocketing back to Downtown Fayetteville with the space-theme "Built To Launch" on Friday, Sep 26.

• Launch Pad: Since 2017, Startup Crawl has brought together over 10,000 locals to explore the region’s growing entrepreneurial scene. Hosted by Startup Junkie, the event highlights emerging companies and the people driving Northwest Arkansas’s future and all proceeds go toward local entrepreneurial education.

Fayetteville Facility Leading The Way For Dyslexia Support

The Nelms Dyslexia Center is hard at work to bridge the gap between trained experts and Arkansans with dyslexia.

• Nelms’s Mission: The Fayetteville-based facility offers training, therapy, assessment, and support for children and adults with dyslexia. Its mission is to build reading skills and spread awareness that dyslexia is a learning difference, not a disability.

• The Gap and The Gain: Arkansas needs 4,000 certified academic language therapists to support the dyslexic community. Only 240 practice today. However, the Nelms Dyslexia Center is working to close that gap in Northwest Arkansas and beyond through its unique, fast-growing approach.

Downtown Bentonville could soon welcome a new residential area with the development of AppleJack II Townhomes.

• Development Details: The proposed development sits on 2.43 acres of land off of Central Ave. It includes 43 townhomes and cottages, 86 parking spots, and a community open space.
