New Solar Park in Lowell to Save Beaver Water District Resources

Beaver Water District

The Beaver Water District (BWD), which treats and supplies water from Beaver Lake to the NWA area, broke ground last month on a 4.99 megawatt solar park in Lowell.

  • Harnessing the Sun: The 32-acre farm helps offset energy costs and is a part of a larger expansion project preparing for rising water demand across the region. This site alone is estimated to provide a net savings of over $10mm.

  • 72mm: The average daily gallons of drinking water provided by BWD. The 4.99 megawatt solar park is expected to provide 15-20% of the district’s electricity needs, boosting efficiencies and sustainability.
