Crystal Bridges Opens “Behind-the-Scenes" Art Installation
While Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art prepares to move its collection of artwork into its new expanded space, a new exhibit gives a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s day-to-day work.
Bridging the Gap: In 2026, Crystal Bridges will expand access to five centuries of American Art by adding another 114,000 square feet of new space. As part of the expansion, the museum is moving almost every work of art in the building. This opportunity gives a glimpse into the daily life of the museum’s art handlers.
New Experiences: The new exhibition has been staged to look like the Crystal Bridges vault. Visitors will see many different artworks and their storage methods in the vault when the works are not on view.
