Fun is Blooming at Rivercrest Orchard in Fayetteville

Rivercrest Orchard’s annual Tulip Festival is springing up this weekend, coloring the farm with over 500,000 tulips to explore and enjoy. The festival runs Mar 22 through Apr 6.

  • Tiptoe Through the Tulips: Rivercrest Orchard features a beautiful 3-acre tulip field, perfect for spring photo ops! You can pick your own tulips and enjoy fun amenities at the orchard, like bumper cars, barn chute slide, train rides, bounce pillows, bubble barn, ropes course, & more!

  • Bloom & Glow: Take the fun to new heights during Balloon Glow Days. Watch as vibrant hot-air balloons light up the evening sky over the blooming tulip fields the weekends of Mar 29-30 and Apr 5-6, from 6 to 8p.

Turpentine Creek Hosts 33rd Annual Kite Fest

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge

Watch the sky fill with color during the 33rd Annual Kite Fest at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs this Saturday, Mar 22, from 10a-3p.

  • Lions, Tigers, & Bears: For over 30 years, Turpentine Creek has rescued over 500 animals from private owners, roadside zoos, and situations of abuse and neglect, providing lifelong sanctuary within its 459-acre refuge. The refuge is currently home to several tigers, lions, ligers, a jaguar, a leopard, a hyena, and more.  

  • Oh, Fly: Bring your kite, or you can purchase or make one on-site with KaleidoKites. Enjoy shopping from local vendors, food trucks, and live music from classic rock artist Avery Waltz! The kite fest is free, though general admission still applies if you’d like to tour the refuge.

Northwest Arkansas Remains One of the Fastest-Growing Metros in the U.S.

Northwest Arkansas continues to lead the state in population growth, ranking as the fastest-growing metro in Arkansas and the 22nd fastest-growing in the nation, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

  • Steady Climb: The region’s total population grew by 2.3% in 2024, reaching 605,615 residents, up from 591,895 in 2023. The area also moved up two spots to become the 96th most populous metro in the country.

  • Benton County Boom: Benton County remains Arkansas’s fastest-growing county, adding 9,318 residents in 2024 to reach a population of 321,566. Washington County followed with a gain of 4,304 residents, growing to 266,184.
