The Compton Hotel Set to Open in Downtown Bentonville Later This Year

A 142-room boutique hotel called The Compton is set to open later this year just off Bentonville’s Downtown Square, offering visitors a home base to explore the city’s outdoor culture, arts, and business scene.

• Honoring a Legacy: Named after conservationist Neil Compton, the 116,000 sqft hotel pays tribute to his efforts in preserving the Buffalo River. Designed by Marvel Design and BRR Architecture, The Compton blends modern comfort with the region’s natural beauty with features like a skylit lobby, a grand ballroom, and communal spaces.

• Built for Explorers: Catering to Bentonville’s cycling culture, The Compton will include a bike valet, wash station, and secure storage. Guests can also enjoy on-site dining, meeting spaces, and a cocktail bar.

OZ Trails To Build First Chairlift-Enabled Mountain Bike Park in Bella Vista

As part of the Governor's remarks for Natural State Day at the Arkansas State Capitol yesterday, Governor Sarah Sanders announced plans for the OZ Trails Bike Park in Bella Vista—set to include the region’s first mountain bike chairlift.

• Get Lifted: The OZ Trails Bike Park will feature over 20 miles of gravity trails, designed for all skill levels. A high-speed Poma-Leitner chairlift will provide year-round lift access, making it the first of its kind in the region. The park will seamlessly connect with the existing OZ Trails network.

• Off Trails: In addition to world-class biking, the park will include a full-service dining facility, a bike shop and rental center, a community plaza, a pump track, a dedicated hiking trail, and art installations. Construction is expected to start this spring, with plans currently under city review.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will host world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, his son Nicholas Ma, and former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy for a keynote conversation on Tuesday, Feb 26, at 5p, moderated by award-winning actor Alfre Woodard.

• Cello Connection: This event is part of Crystal Bridges’s ongoing distinguished lecture series, which brings global leaders to Northwest Arkansas to inspire fresh perspectives on art and culture. The conversation will explore themes of wellness, unity, and hope in today’s world. A special cello performance by Yo-Yo Ma will follow.
