Dr. Bernice A. King, the youngest daughter of the late civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, will visit the Fayetteville Town Center for a moderated Q&A Session on Wednesday, Feb 28, at 7p.

  • The Dream Continues: Carrying on her parent’s legacy of nonviolence, King serves as the CEO of The King Center. She is an ordained minister, licensed attorney, and the author of Hard Questions, Hard Answers and It Starts With Me.

INTERFORM Launches Small Batch Apparel Manufacturing Business

Leveraging fashion as a force for good, local nonprofit INTERFORM has expanded its impact with the launch of an apparel manufacturing business called RHIZOME.

  • New Layers: RHIZOME provides small-batch manufacturing services for designers who want to build a career in fashion, taking them from concept to final design to get their work market-ready. The small-batch approach helps creators avoid wasted costs and lessens the environmental impact of large-scale production.

  • Sew Good: The new for-profit branch of INTERFORM will provide job opportunities for those who have graduated from its sewing and apparel production courses while generating revenue to support the nonprofit’s programs. This year, RHIZOME plans to launch a Design-on-Demand service called Ventureware.

New Tavern Opening Tonight In East Fayetteville

A new gathering place is on the scene in East Fayetteville with the opening of Tuskers Tavern, located at 1830 N. Crossover Rd next to Mess Hall 45.

  • Joining The Lot: Tuskers Tavern has been a long-time dream of locals Zack and Natalie Wakefield and Todd and Marti Martin, who also own East Side Grill, Theo’s, and Southern Food Company. The space has been remodeled to give off a comfortable, upscale living room vibe and also features an outdoor patio.

  • Love It: Tuskers officially opens for drinks tonight, with a Valentine’s Cocktail Party from 5-11p. Food service begins this Thursday, Feb 15, serving small plates, flatbreads, salads, and more.
