Farm School & Homesteading Conference Coming To Bentonville This Spring
Whether you’re an apartment-dwelling health enthusiast interested in patio farming or own a few acres with thoughts of homesteading, the NWA Farm School and Homesteading Conference has something for you! Coming to the Benton County Fairgrounds Apr 16-20.
Digging In: Farm School includes four days of farm visits and intensive classes on raising livestock, followed by a conference on Friday and Saturday, covering everything from growing sprouts on your windowsill to growing crops in a greenhouse.
The Whole Family: Kids can hug cows, pet baby goats, and play with chicks during a Jr. Farm School while their parents take the deep dive. There will be a ticketed Farm to Table Dinner on Thursday evening, and everyone can enjoy live music on Thursday and Friday and food trucks Thursday through Saturday.

Last week, Bentonville-based headwear provider Outdoor Cap Company was recognized by the League of American Bicyclists with a silver Bicycle Friendly Business award, celebrating the company's efforts to build a more bicycle-friendly workplace.
Along For The Ride: As part of the Bicycle Friendly Business network, Outdoor Cap Company will gain access to tools and technical assistance to help them make their business even more welcoming and accessible to cyclists.
Hats Off To You: Over 1,400 businesses across the country have been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists, and of Arkansas’s 85 Bicycle Friendly Businesses, 77 are in Northwest Arkansas.

J.B. Hunt To Acquire Walmart’s Intermodal Assets

J.B. Hunt is set to acquire Walmart’s intermodal assets as part of a recently announced multi-year agreement, aiming to bolster their intermodal services and capacity while emphasizing their commitment to sustainable transportation practices.
Á La Mode: “Intermodal” refers to transporting goods using multiple modes, such as rail and truck, creating a more efficient environmentally friendly process. and efficient impact.
Good Partners: Walmart and J.B. Hunt have worked together on transportation services for decades. The companies will optimize their efficiency and service delivery by combining their transportation assets.

Northwest Arkansas Sales Tax Revenue Up 3.13% In February Report
According to February's report, Northwest Arkansas sales tax revenue growth remained positive overall, though its pace of growth has slowed. Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale brought in a combined total of $10.367m — a 3.13% increase over February 2023.
The Streak Ends: Bentonville’s fourteenth-month streak of double-digit growth has ended as the city posted revenue of $2.409m, down 2.94% from 2023. Mayor Stephanie Orman said she was not concerned about the slower start to 2024, noting the city’s resilience.
On A Positive Note: Rogers collected $2.87m, a 9.64% increase over last year. Fayetteville reported sales tax revenue of $2.943m, up 1.65% from the previous year. Springdale saw 4.28% growth, with total revenue reaching $2.144m.
