Help CASA of Northwest Arkansas Engage 30 New Volunteers By June 30th

CASA of Northwest Arkansas is on a mission to ensure every child in foster care from our community has an advocate, and now is the perfect time to lend your voice to the cause!

  • Change A Child’s Story: CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, of Northwest Arkansas provides compassionate volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children, ensuring a consistent voice, a safe home, and a promising future for children in foster care.

  • 30 By 30: CASA urgently needs to recruit and train 30 new volunteers by Jun 30 to advocate for children on their waitlist. Learn more during one of their upcoming Lunch and Learn events in Rogers on May 1 or Fayetteville on May 2. You can also join a Virtual Information Session.

Trailblazers’ Movement May Challenge Encourages Community Wellness

Join Trailblazers for Movement May and embark on a journey toward wellness, connectivity, and community spirit through the Movement Challenge, lasting from May 1–31.

  • Movement For All: Whether you run, walk, hike, commute by bike, or like to skateboard and roller skate, Movement Challenge is a celebration of all the ways you like to move on our local trails, streets, and paths.

  • Activities All Month: Join Trailblazers’ Strava Club, and when you log activities on Strava during the month of May, you’ll be eligible for prizes and additional fun challenges.

Northwest Arkansas Pop-up Shop Drops Spring Collection

The Northwest Arkansas Pop-up Shop just dropped its Spring Collection, featuring custom graphic tees, women’s tanks, hats, totes, and custom bike jerseys showcasing the official Northwest Arkansas branding and hand-drawn illustrations of many recognizable facets of the region we love!

  • Represent, Represent: Made possible through a collaboration between a local print shop, a local team, and Arkansas artist Grayce Holcomb, this pre-sale store is for anyone who proudly represents Northwest Arkansas both near and far.

  • Spring Into New Styles: All orders must be placed by 11:59p Wednesday, May 15. Orders will be produced and shipped out by Friday, May 31. Custom bike jerseys will take an additional 1-2 weeks to ship.

Fayetteville’s First Thursday Celebrations Are Back!

The 2024 First Thursday Fayetteville series kicks off this week at the Historic Fayetteville Square on May 2 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

  • Thurs Yay: First Thursday is a free monthly arts & culture festival organized by Experience Fayetteville. From May through October, the event features live music, a vendor market, community activations, group bike rides, and different activities based around a new theme each month!

  • 🌊 🪨 🔥 🌬️ : May’s theme is Elemental, exploring the elements of Fire, Earth, Water, and Air. Mainstage music will feature Shannon Wurst, March to August, and 1oz Jig. Join Bike Fayetteville and Trailblazers for a Slow Roll bike ride and get up close with Arkansas’s native fish at AGFC’s mobile aquarium.

Local Talent Hits The Big Screen During The Rogers Short Film Festival

The Rogers Short Film Festival has selected 34 films for its fourth annual film festival at the newly renovated Victory Theater in Downtown Rogers from May 3–5.

  • Ready, Set, Action: The festival allows participants, from K-12 students to professional filmmakers, to see their films on the big screen. This year’s festival includes prominent jurors, such as Frank Barbieri, Walmart's vice president of content and digital; Joe Newcomb, co-producer of Dallas Buyers Club; and more.

  • At The Movies: Come network with fellow creators while enjoying local food, entertainment, and culture. Tickets for the film festival are now available, and prices range from $30 for a one-day pass to $200 for VIP all-weekend access at Victory Theater.
