Brightwater Receives $650K To Launch Artisanal Butchery Program

NorthWest Arkansas Community College has received a $650,000 grant from the USDA to launch a groundbreaking butchery program at its Brightwater culinary school.

  • The Butcher’s Block: Launching in Fall 2024, students can enroll in the Artisanal Butchery Certificate program, where they will learn the technical skills and business knowledge needed to run their own butcher shop.

  • Earning Their Chops: Students will also gain hands-on experience staffing and managing a retail butcher shop at Bentonville's 8th Street Market, where they will produce and sell charcuterie items.
